Its been rather a long time

I have known Mel personally for about 9 years now, meeting as nurses working at Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland. We travelled together through Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany, Austria and Hungary for about 6 weeks in 2017 and in this time we got to know each other a lot better and formed a much more special friendship. It was during this time of travel that I first got to meet Scott, not in person but over video calls, phone calls on speaker and through Mel's daily chit-chat about him. When i finally got to meet Mel's longterm finance of 5 years, I remember one of the first things I said was 'wow, you are tall!' (which i'm sure he has had to put up with being told for all of his adult life). I had only known Mel as Mel, but i soon came to know them as a duo and from then on it was always Mel & Scott. He joined in our house dinners and restaurant outings with other nurse friends, never bothered by our constant talk of work and hospital jargon and was always happy to join our convo, help out with the dishes, open the tight bottle caps, etc... (what a keeper!). I realized pretty early on that these two were soulmates, perfectly imperfect together. They had been together for so many years and they still had such a strong love, the type that has been tried and tested, and lasts. I did this photography session as a wedding gift for Mel and Scott who finally tied the know at at a beautiful rural property in Whangarei about a month later at the end of last year. Congratulations to my wonderful friends and may you truly be happy together always.
